“Money-raising Monday” begins November 2nd!
The Rooted Refuge is very excited to announce our monthly fundraiser, Money-raising Monday! On the first Monday of every month, we will be in the office together and we will donate ALL profits from treatments to a small business or non-profit.
Our first small business that we’ll be featuring is Woven Bodies, an inclusive digital practice that provides information + services around conception, pregnancy, and parenthood available to people in the US, regardless of location. Their mission is to create a space that actively engages in conversations around the role of gender, sexuality, class and race in the paths to parenthood.
I caught up with Woven Bodies co-founder, Dr. Alexandra Garcia DACM, LAc, and she had this to say about Woven Bodies’ inception:
“When we began our conception + parenting journey as an interracial, queer family, there were so few resources available. We were working in the dark and had to forge our own path • So as we birthed our child, we also birthed Woven Bodies: a queer and black run digital hub with the hope that all queer folks, no matter where they lived, could access antiracist, queer informed resources around fertility, conception, birth and the postpartum. Everyone is welcome to use our offerings, but this space centers the queer body. Queer bodies are not the exception here. We are the norm.”
Please join us on November 2nd at The Rooted Refuge (by appointment only, book here) so we can help our amazing friends develop their amazing practice. Also, you can donate directly to Woven Bodies here.
See you then!
With Love & Gratitude,
Dr. Christopher Peacock
